New York University Honors the late Derrick Bell

New York University Law School recently honored Derrick Bell, who died in October after spending two decades as a visiting professor at NYU Law School.

At a February 28th ceremony, the New York University Annual Survey of American Law dedicated its 69th volume to Bell, who joined NYU's faculty in 1990 after leaving Harvard Law School. 

Bell, a constitutional law scholar, was one of the founding voices of the critical race theory movement.

Susan Taylor to Deliver Keynote Address at Women's Symposium
Susan Taylor, editor emerita of Essence magazine, will deliver the keynote address at the Woman's History Month Symposium 8 a.m. to Noon, March 28 at the Cannon Caucus Room in the Cannon Office Building. The building's address is Independence Ave. and New Jersey Ave., SE in Washington, D.C.

The event is sponsored by the National Park Service, National Council of Negro Women and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Following the symposium, attendees will have lunch at B. Smith's restaurant in Washington's Union Station.
