NorthStar Is Accepting Ads and Donations

The NorthStar News & Analysis, one of the leading online publications for African-American men, is now offering sponsorship and advertising opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

The publication, which is not published for a profit, is seeking support for its operations through small donations and modest paid advertising. Founder and editor Frederick Lowe has backed NorthStar because of his passion and vision for the African-American community.

"I founded The NorthStar News & Analysis because black men should have a balanced image of themselves, not the overwhelmingly distorted and negative ones that abound and are so easily accepted and so rarely challenged," he said.

NorthStar welcomes custom advertising campaigns that could include banner advertising in the publication, or certain approved advertorial content that is clearly labeled as such. An example would be a press release promoting a small business that is marked as promotional material, but is made available to NorthStar’s audience, which includes a range of people including scholars and business executives.

People interested in advertising in NorthStar should contact Barry Cooper, the publication’s Director of Business Development. Email him at barrycooper@thenorthstarnews.com. Advertising and sponsorship rates start at just $100 per issue. Plans for accepting donations to further the cause of NorthStar will be announced next week.
